-UTI assessments and treatment prescribing – Our pharmacists are authorized to assess and prescribe treatment for uncomplicated, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs/cystitis) in non‑pregnant women, offering faster and more accessible care. This service is available to patients with a previously diagnosed, low‑risk UTI and is covered for up to three assessments per year with a valid Manitoba Health card.
What counts as an uncomplicated UTI? An uncomplicated UTI is a bladder infection caused by typical bacteria in individuals with internal reproductive organs with no structural or functional abnormalities of the urinary tract (e.g., no catheter, normal kidney function, no spinal cord injury).
